As other folks maybe wonder about this too:

Do you think Molly can read and/or write?

Personally, I think so, otherwise, she may have problems ordering groceries to be delivered to the Folly, as she seems to never leave the house.

I think it's canon that she can, in one of the books Nightingale tells Peter that Molly gets the Folly's groceries by providing written lists to shops that deliver. Also it's hard to see what she'd be doing on Peter's computer if she can't read or write, and presumably she's going to get typing sussed fairly quickly too.

And (highlight to read Foxglove Summer spoilers) [the fact that the fairy queen in Foxglove Summer can talk suggests that Molly might be able to speak, even if she doesn't actually do so. I'd always assumed she just wasn't physically able to form words what with her mouth and tongue being so different from the normal human physiology, but evidently that's not the case.]

Now that's an interesting point! If she doesn't know what she is - does Nightingale know? How much contact has there been between the Folly and the wherever-it-is that Molly comes from? Peter knows now, sort of - that's going to be an interesting conversation.

I did see someone point out that the queen only talks in canon when they're in the parallel universe thing, so perhaps it's only there that she can speak?
